The Rubs
THE RUBS (Tall Pat Records, Dumpster Tapes, Why Pick on Me?) are a punk/power pop/garage band out of Chicago, IL . Mainstays of Chicago’s dynamic DIY scene, THE RUBS put on a raw, high-energy live show that has made them a sought-after group locally as well as nationally. Joey Rubbish (aka Joe Montanaro), the band’s fierce/animated frontman, leads the charge with his high school letterman jacket and wild stage antics. For all intents and purposes Rubbish is the Rubs- he is the bandleader, songwriter, lead singer and he plays all of the instruments on the bands upcoming LP THE RUBS ARE TRASH. However, this is not to say that he isn’t surrounded by a talented band. THE RUBS are a veritable “who’s who” of the Chicago ga-
rage rock scene. Their past and present line-up features members of The Yolks, The Lemons, The Sueves, Son of a Gun, Slushy, Uh Bones, American Breakfast, Space Waste, Gross Pointe and others.

The Whiffs
"The Whiffs dig power pop. Their logo is based on London's Stiff Records, who in the 70s and early 80s released records by Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and Any Trouble, and one listen to "She Lies", a track taken from their new EP, and you get a strong sense that there is some Big Star and Nerves albums in their collection. The Kansas City four-piece trade in big hooks and big choruses and since forming in April 2016 have become the band to lead a KC power pop revival." -Noisey
