Freddie Foxxx aka Bumpy Knuckles
Bumpy Knuckles, is a New York M.C. and producer whose contributions to the culture of Hip Hop has surpassed the standards of what one would call a legendary artist. His longevity in a music genre that tries so hard to put a time limit on it’s artists is proof that creativity, talent and hard work does indeed pay off.
Initially hailing from Long Island New York as Freddie Foxxx, Bumpy Knuckles quickly established himself as a M.C. who commanded listening to. His assertive personality is evidenced in his lyrics and he says exactly what he feels. Beginning his rap career as a member of the group, Supreme Force, Bumpy recorded his first singles on Nia Records/Atlantic Records. “Come Out Fresh” and “Cold Handlin’ Things” Not long after, Bumpy landed a deal with MCA Records and released his solo album “Freddie Foxxx Is Here” in 1989.
After the release of “Freddie Foxxx Is Here” Bumpy Knuckles quickly became a staple in the Hip Hop community. Upon leaving MCA Records, Bumpy joined Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit and released his second album “Crazy Like A Foxxx.” In the next few years following, he received notoriety for his cameos on songs by Boogie Down Productions, Naughty By Nature, M.O.P., Missin Linx OC and Gang Starr’s hit “The Militia.” It was clear that Bumpy’s tenacious delivery of his clever lyrics were a welcomed addition to many of his peers’ projects. In addition, not only was Bumpy able to instill his passion for writing what he felt in his own verses, Bumpy also proved versatility in his writing abilities when he penned five songs for female rap duo Salt-N-Pepa. Bumpy Knuckles wrote “Big Shots,” “Groove Me,” “Somebody’s Getting On My Nerves,” “None Of Your Business” and the hit single “Whatta Man” on their album “Very Necessary.”
After his dealings with record labels left him feeling somewhat disconcerted, he began his career as an independent artist. Bumpy Knuckles was at the forefront of what we now call underground Hip Hop. Upon distancing himself from traditional record labels, Bumpy took some time away from the limelight and associated with the likes of Lord Finesse and Showbiz. While on this hiatus, Bumpy took notes from the D.I.T.C crew and sharpened his own production skills. Then in 2000, he released his third album “Industry Shakedown,” which was the biggest selling independent album of the year. The album’s title song uninhibitedly expressed Bumpy’s frustration with the business side of the music industry. This was the first Hip Hop song of this kind and it became the blueprint of other artists’ backlash to the industry when they felt wronged. The album included contributions from super producers Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Following “Industry Shakedown” Bumpy released “Konexion” in 2003 which included tracks produced by DJ Premier and DJ Clark Kent.
In 2006, Bumpy performed and produced on various tracks of the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 video game. He also appeared on WWE John Cena’s album “You Can’t See Me” Flow Easy, Keep Frontin—performed and produced “Bad Bad Man” (2005). Bumpy Knuckles subsequently released a series of independent albums including “OG Volumes” and “Music From the Man.”
To date, Bumpy Knuckles has steadily provided that boom bap sound that true Hip Hop lovers search for and he shows no signs of discontinuing this plight. Bumpy past projects include collaborations with Public Enemy, O.C., Statik Selectah, DJ Wayneski and of course the last collaboration album with DJ Premier “Koloxxxion.”

Kev Brown
Kev Brown is known in the hip hop world as a legend to say the least. The producer/mc is just a few years shy of 20 years in the business and resume that ranks him among the best. As a Landover, MD native, Kev was an integral part in ushering in the Washington, DC area music scene (also known as the DMV for DC, Maryland & Virginia) to the masses. His exceptional talent was an obvious choice to well seasoned vets and pioneers even in the earliest stage of his career. It was icons like DJ Jazzy Jeff, Marley Marl, Pete Rock, Grap Luva, Biz Markie and De La Soul who recognized his gifts as a producer and assisted in his big break in the early 2000s. Those collaborations gave Brown undeniable production credits which led to his own solo path as an artist.
Releasing his debut album, "I Do What I Do" in 2005 to critical acclaim, it would be a landmark work of its time. It was an inspiration the local DMV scene as well as the rest of the world. "I Do What I Do" would be an official introduction to Kev's artist collective, The Low Budget Crew which included Oddisee, Ken Starr, Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, Kaimbr, DJ Roddy Rod, Cy Young, Critically Acclaimed and many others. The album, would be the first time many would hear Kev behind a mic since emerging primarily as a producer. Kev's now-trademark production style was being innovated by the producer during this era on his MPC 2000xl. Producers from around the globe have been influenced by Kev's sound discovering him through countless releases and an international list of live performances. Even peers like 9th Wonder, Diamond D and Pete Rock have named Brown as one of their favorites. Kev, himself, lists his musical household, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Special Ed, Soulquarians and of course late '80s-late '90s hip hop as his personal inspirations. Over the years his catalog has grown as he expanded with dozens of beat tapes, solo projects, credits as a featured artist and/or producer and projects from The Low Budget Crew. Not only has his sound appealed to the hip hop community, but neo-soul and R&B acts like Raheem DeVaughn, Phonte, Wayna and Eric Roberson have also tapped into Kev's sensibilities.
Kev continues to push himself upward creatively and professionally. Several solo albums are currently scheduled for release in upcoming months in which he aims to challenge his listeners and push boundaries of his craft. In addition to the list of releases on the horizon, Kev is back on the road and available for bookings. His performances include a combination of rapping and live beat sets. Catch him in on vinyl at a record store or live on a stage near you. You never know whom or what he'll produce and where he'll be next.

J Scienide
J Scienide is a true student in the school of emceeing. This Washington DC transplant is ready to take his talents to the next phase by releasing his first Album "The Actual Heat”.
Writing rhymes at an early age for himself and others. He realized he had a knack for witty wordplay and picking obscure sounds to sample and turn into beats. Winning numerous talent shows, battles, and freestyle competitions. The hungry emcee partnered up with fellow emcee/producer/friend to form the group The Lost n Found Dept. under his own label Brooklina Records. Fisher ( M.F. Doom manager) and M.F. Grimm the label also had a budding roster including projects by M.F. Doom and J-Zone
During the time at Day by Day Scienide put in work releasing a 12 inch feat fellow emcee Supastition called "3 Treacherous". Elemental and Urb magazines gave the record glowing reviews as did the European radio and record stores in Japan. Not one for taking a break Scienide jumped into working with the Atlanta group Prophetix on their debut album which feat such notables as MF Doom, Scienz of Life and Stahrr. This also lead to working with Prophetix deejay Jon Doe on his album which featured the talents of Dudley Perkins, MED, C Rayz Walz and MF Doom.
Today Scienide is a solo artist ready to add onto his art. Releasing several singles in the past years to test the waters in this thirsty hip hop climate things are looking bright and productive. Scienide dropped his debut album “The Actual Heat” this April on Official Crate Records. Scienide handled the bulk of the production of the album minus one song produced by beat smith Gensu Dean (Mello Music Group) The album features Supastition, Kenn Starr, Grap Luva, yU (Mello Music Group) Kev Brown and Nolan The Ninja ( Left of Center/ Fat Beats) A new 7 inch single with producer Kev Brown has just went to the record pressing plant to be released thru Official Crate Music and a slew of album features, new music and production slated for 2017/18.
