BG.FM
Blake Gamel of Big Jesus Launches solo, six-song EP entitled Tangerine.
"Calling his fledgling project BG.FM, he set about composing new songs, learning how to record, and teaching himself new instruments to achieve the ethereal rock sound he was after. But what started as a creative outlet soon became a necessary compulsion. While COVID raged across the planet and turned the world upside down, BG.FM became a means of finding some measure of peace.
“2020 was exceptionally hard for everyone, me included,” Gamel says. “Faced with the existential shock of my lifestyle and income ceasing to exist in one day, I found myself in a dark and confusing world. In 2020 America and the world seemed to be crumbling and it was all very overwhelming. The only solace I could find was in creating once again…for myself. I dug my feet in, learned a few new instruments, taught myself how to record a demo, and created an album that was a safe space for me to crawl inside and escape.” " - Immersive Atlanta

Lo Talker
Shepard is joined by his brother Zach (bass), who also played in Roadkill Ghost Choir, as well as Alec Stanley (guitar/keyboard), Rhett Fuller (guitar), and Jeremiah Johnson (drums). Lo Talker performs lush, intricate folk rock augmented by the psychedelic whirr of fractured tape loops. Shepard documents the American panorama of the last few years — jumping from lamentations on the brutality of living, to co-dependent relationships, to the fall of the American empire, and through, of course, the current Trump presidency. To Shepard’s credit, he never wallows. Though each of the songs tackles the kind of heavy life experiences that we’d probably prefer not to think about, he has a gift for writing observational moments with unexpected verve, and sometimes some much needed humor. “Just because of how oppressively strange everything has been for the last four years…I guess that it kind of made its way into these songs,” Shepard says.

True Blossom
True Blossom formed in 2017 from the thriving Atlanta underground synth-pop scene. The band released their debut album Heater, a sweet and strange collection of disco, city-pop, and classic indie, last year on Citrus City Records. They followed that with a series of tours up and down the east coast.
Their second album, In Bliss, arrives October 23rd, again on Citrus City. Its surface is all sophistication and light - red lipstick, brushed steel, and lace, but an eerie sadness hangs over the whole affair. Though bits of new wave synth and disco percussion shimmer and glow with warmth, the gloom never quite lifts.
In Bliss was recorded in Atlanta by Damon Moon at Standard Electric Recording Co. Founding members Sophie Cox, Nadav Flax, Adam Weisberg, Jamison Murphy, and Chandler Kelley tracked most of the instruments before Jamison left to attend graduate school in Maryland. Newest member Bonnie Hardie joined the band during the sessions, and her vocal harmonies can be heard throughout.
