Fake Fruit

Oakland, CA foursome Fake Fruit, fronted by Hannah “Ham” D’Amato, made a splash with their self-titled debut amidst the pandemic in 2021 via Rocks in Your Head Records. With Alex Post on lead guitar, Miles MacDiarmid on drums, and Dylan Allard on bass the band is “A whirlwind of biting critique, nervy post-punk guitars, and absurdist humor.” Pitchfork describes them as “spirited punk primitivism with two-minute art-rock tracks—punchy, melodic songs united by nervy guitars and cutting takedowns of modern frustrations.” Despite the global pandemic’s impact on live music, Fake Fruit have still managed to turn heads, touring the U.S. and overseas playing shows with Alvvays, Dry Cleaning, Amyl and the Sniffers, The Descendants, Cate Le Bon etc. and earning accolades from the likes of Bandcamp, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, Post-Trash, and more. With funny but biting lyrics, blistering guitars, and a powerhouse rhythm section you’ll feel in on whatever joke they happen to be telling.
