Great Wide Nothing

Great Wide Nothing is a progressive/art rock band from Atlanta, GA.
Initially conceived as a solo endeavor by bassist, vocalist, & primary songwriter Daniel Graham, the project that would become Great Wide Nothing began to take on a life of its own with the addition of drummer Jeff Matthews and keyboardist Dylan Porper (both graduates of the Atlanta Institute of Music & Media) in early 2017. As the trio collectively arranged and rehearsed Graham’s compositions for live performance, it became clear that there was something unique taking shape, and after a few false starts under different names, the group finally began performing and recording under the “Great Wide” moniker in the summer of 2018.
The band’s debut studio album – “The View From Olympus” – was independently released on April 5th, 2019 and quickly earned the them international attention, selling in countries around the world, garnering positive reviews from a number of online journals, and racking up radio play in the US, the UK, Canada, and Mexico.
Great Wide Nothing’s music is best described as a contemporary, alternative-infused take on classic prog – a distinctive blend of lush keyboard textures, driving basslines, intricate rhythms, colorful and contemplative lyrics, and accessible vocal melodies that manages to strike the perfect balance between nostalgia and of-the-moment realism, paying homage to bombastic 70’s icons like Rush, Yes, ELP, Genesis, & King Crimson while nonetheless maintaining an undeniably modern, down-to-earth, and introspective vibe that endears them to a wide variety of listeners.

Close Enough

Good old fashioned suburban punk from some 90s kids who couldn’t let go. Or something like that…

We may not be great, but hey, we’re Close Enough
