Pure Intruders
The inception of Pure Intruders began unknowingly at a house show in 2018 when long-time friends Brandon Suarez, Jonathan Noel and Madeline Smith put together a set of songs to perform for their close friends. The intrinsic chemistry between the trio encouraged them to write and record a handful of demos in early 2020, anonymously releasing the tracks under the moniker Pure Intruders. The result was “No Hard Feelings” a tender, introspective EP that brought the groups understated presence into light, earning accolades from bloggers and publishers alike. “Pure Intruders don’t fit into any single mold: Their collective style is diverse and wide-reaching, incorporating everything from disco grooves to jazz guitar progressions, retro-wave synth pads, bossanova rhythms and beats, and much more.” – Atwood Magazine
With their latest release, Pure Intruders transcends the soft, hospitality of their “No Hard Feelings” EP, and evolves into a more detailed, maximalist synth pop. Exploding with shimmering synths and sparkling production, the band’s sound is reminiscent of the layered melodies of 70’s Disco, while incorporating the playful, experimental lush sounds of 80’s synth pop. Though the band’s nostalgic influences are found in the nooks and crannies of their songwriting, the product remains a vibrant, authentic strand of contemporary Indie Pop.
