Arkose

The dynamic Acid Jazz duo with their signature Diamond-Cut Sound is from Atlanta, GA is called Arkose. They are made up of multi-instrumentalists, Tad Adams & Noah Sills. This duo has quickly became a household name in the music scene. From their weekly jazz jam residency at Smiths Olde Bar to them working with some of the best up and coming artists such as: Jai’Len Josey, SWAVAY, Ben Reilly, Chase Shakur, Kennedy Ryon, Gus Glasser, Eddie 9V and many more.

The duo met at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, GA which is 40 minutes north of Atlanta in Cobb County. They were both involved in Marching band, Concert band and Jazz band. They found a mutual love for jazz, Rock and Hip Hop Artists like Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Van Halen, MF DOOM, and many more.

They both played horn instruments in school. Tad playing Trumpet and Noah playing saxophone. During a semester of jazz band, Tad decided to bring his guitar. At the Jazz Concert, Tad soloed over Vehicle by The Ides of March. He blew everyone away including Noah, who was one grade younger. Later that night, Noah’s Dad tells Noah, “If you ever have a band, that should be your guitar player. That kid can play!”

That statement would soon turn into foreshadow 4 years later, Noah went to Tad to record some guitar parts. That music was for the For The Love EP that was released in 2019. Shortly after the release, Noah asked Tad if he would like to make this project a duo project. Tad agreed and the two immediately started creating songs in Noah’s moms house. They grab from influences such as: Badbadnotgood, Khruangbin, Kool & The Gang, Jamiroquai, Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind, & Fire & the Isley Brothers.

While changing throughout the years because of members learning new instruments such as flute and clarinet and also improving on recording techniques, Acid Jazz is the best genre to describe Arkose. Their blend of Jazz, House, RnB, HipHop, Soul & Rock is what not only makes them unique to Atlanta, but the whole globe.

JIT JR

Malik Alazander Barnes, known professionally as JIT JR, has been immersed in a love for music from a young age. This passion was sparked by a gift from his father—an MP3 player loaded with classic Neo-soul, and hip-hop records. This early exposure laid the foundation for his musical journey, which began at age 11 when he started playing the saxophone.
In his formative years, JIT JR’s involvement in the jazz community of Atlanta confirmed his decision to pursue music seriously. Over the past 12 years, he has become a versatile musician, mastering multiple instruments and exploring various aspects of music creation. His love for modern avant-garde jazz, RnB/Soul, and Hip Hop has shaped his distinctive sound.
THE MELODRAMATIC JITMATIC is a short-form piece that explores themes of conflict and connection, love and personal struggle, and ultimately finding solace in God and himself. Each track reflects JIT JR’s personal experiences and growth over the past decade.
Listeners of THE MELODRAMATIC JITMATIC can expect to connect with the genuine emotion and dedication in each track. The record emphasizes the importance of love, reflection, creativity, and spirituality.
JIT JR took on nearly every aspect of the record’s production himself. He composed, arranged, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered the entire project from vocals and saxophone to guitar, bass, piano, and synths. This comprehensive involvement ensures the album truly reflects his artistic vision.

Ronny DoGood

Ronny DoGood fka Dysfunctional Ron, is an American born rapper from Yorktown, Virginia. His first glimpse into the world of hip hop was a borrowed copy of “Curtain Call” by Eminem in 1st grade. This ignited a love that was soon to be expressed through talent shows, youtube videos and even writing some of his own music. Hustling throughout high school and college, often spending more time in his diy recording studio than in the classroom, Ronald pushed out his first official release “Grinds and Grounds” in 2017. Using his textbooks as a microphone stand, and incense as his inspiration he popped out his first full album “Around the Garden” that same year.
Ronny DoGood has worked as a sound engineer in both Charlotte and Atlanta. And continues to find ways to always improve his production quality in the pursuit of making music that will leave a legacy beyond his lifetime. To date there have been a total of 10 mixtapes from Young Ronald. The DoGood Project is his most recent musical experimentation in which he seeks to do more than just make music for fans of hip-hop. It’s a way for people to connect with the brand, escape the noise of the modern world, and believe in a voice that is going through life with the same damn problems as the rest of us.
