FRIDAY AUG 04, 2017
Wayne Kramer (The MC5)
A very very special show with a very very special man. WAYNE KRAMER (The MC5) is doing a warm up show leading up to his performance the next night in Athens. Backing band includes Adam McIntyre (The Pinx) and Adam Renshaw (The 45s) and Shannon Mulvaney from Magnapop (among many others). Opening is Peter Holsapple from The dB's. Maybe more? There'll be a limited number of advance tickets eventually (for those driving from far away, basically), but mostly it'll be a SUGGESTED DONATION of $15 at the door. All door proceeds benefit homeless veterans. EARLY SHOW!!! Doors at 6. Show *MUST* be over by 9:30.

Peter Holsapple
Peter Livingston Holsapple (born February 19, 1956) formed, along with Chris Stamey, the singing, songwriting, and guitar-playing core of the dB's, a jangle-pop band from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He became the band's principal songwriter and singer after Stamey's departure. The dB's were at the forefront of the guitar bands from the southeast in the 1980s along with R.E.M., Let's Active, etc. The dB's never achieved the prominence of R.E.M. but were critically recognized and are still greatly appreciated today. The band, with Stamey back in the fold, reformed with new material in 2005–2006.
