Must Be The Holy Ghost
"Must Be The Holy Ghost (MBTHG) is the latest vehicle for North Carolina's longtime sonic traveler Jared Draughon. Layered electronic rhythms fuse with thick looping guitars and soaring vocals, a sound both intricately crafted but with ever shifting landscapes. After fronting touring bands in Brooklyn, NY and Chapel Hill, NC for the last decade, Draughon began his unorthodox approach to a solo project in 2012. MBTHG has since opened for various acts like The XX, Torche, Whirr, He is Legend, Toon and the Real Laww, and William Tyler. Live MBTHG consists of Draughon on stage with various pedals and an array of different amps to build layers of guitar and vocals over tight drum loops. Within the limitations of loop music, Draughon manages to create unusually structured and complex songs with distinct movements, largely through his gift for melody. Impassioned vocals, often stacked in multiple harmonies, draw you into a world that is far from constrained by the underpinning loops. MBTHG often teams up live with analog visual psych artist Evan Hawkins to unfold a narrative bathed in swirling colors."

Slowriter
Slowriter’s music is a creative flow of all sorts of sounds, clips, vocals and beats that form an entirely unique blend of music. This ultra-creative, synthy artist samples moments from movies, other songs, books, etc, and turns them into something really interesting to listen to. The mastermind behind Slowriter is Atlanta’s own Bryan Taylor. And as his biography states, his songs are “infectiously catchy and strikingly quirky.” Taylor has been in the music game for more than half a decade now. He recorded and released his first album, What Keeps Me Sane, in 2009. In 2011, he followed up his debut with a self-titled EP. Then, in 2012, Slowriter dropped TrailBlazer, which is a great description of what his music is. It’s so different from anything else out there, it’s certainly in a category of it’s own- and we dig that! - Atlanta Music Guide
