Aeternam
The sheer amount of talent and creativity inherent in Aeternam is refreshing and metalheads everywhere took notice once the band’s debut studio album “Disciples of the Unseen” was unleashed upon the world in 2010 on Metal Blade Records.
Since then, the Quebec City quartet kept fine-tuning its craft to make it into a perfect blend of brutality and harmony, combining classic death metal song writing with middle-eastern influences where pure intensity, crushing riffs, pounding bass lines and brutal growls are paving the way for epic solos, acoustic melodies, huge orchestrations and large vocal harmonies.
In 2012, Aeternam’s second full-length album “Moongod” was released, receiving an all-out positive review and making it on many “top albums of the year” lists. Having developed in maturity and sound, “Moongod” is a continuation of “Disciples of the Unseen” as well as having grown into a new context: “Symphonic Ethnic Metal”. In 2015, the band announced that they were working on a concept album on which tales of nine rulers of the ancient times would be depicted through both a musical and lyrical odyssey.
“Ruins of Empires” was released in February 2017 and is to date Aeternam’s most well-received album. In support of the release, the band went on a streak of shows, working with The Flaming Arts and Continental Records booking agencies to ultimately play the famous 70 000 tons of Metal cruise and tour both Europe and North America alongside Orphaned Land, Tyr, Suffocation and Venom Inc.
Wilderun
“Wilderun lives in the best of many worlds, balancing orchestral, epic metal with folky strains and wandering—with a gusto—into black metal territory, or even thrashy melodeath….’Sleep at the Edge of the Earth’ is imperious….something so majestic that I can already confidently assert that it will be jostling for first place in my Top 10 o’ 2015.” – Angry Metal Guy (2015 Record of the Year)
“Vast instrumentation, insane playing and enough hooks to go fishing with” – Metal Injection
“(‘Sleep at the Edge of the Earth’ is) a totally out-of-nowhere progressive metal masterpiece and in my mind a strong contender for album of the year.” – Arctic Drones
“Wilderun has given us a magical ride through progressive metal and symphonic folk metal” – Headbang or GTFO
“’Sleep at the Edge of the Earth’ is nothing short of breathtaking, and should be required listening for any and all fans of extreme metal.” – Dead Rhetoric
“There are few moments more satisfying as a music writer (and fan) than being blindsided and absolutely floored by a previously unknown musical entity bursting out of the woodwork and delivering an album of the emotional depth and magnitude of ‘Sleep at the Edge of the Earth’.” – Teeth of the Divine
“How (‘Sleep at the Edge of the Earth’) is only their second album I don’t know, and frankly I don’t believe it. That a band on album two can put something like this out really leaves no excuse for bands with an extensive back catalogue. The young bands of today are offering up some serious competition and bands like Wilderun are high in the pack.” – Sound The Charge
Sacrificed Alliance
In 2013 “Our Blessing” was released. This EP was the first thing from Sacrificed Alliance to come out. Their first full length album “Withering Synergy” then came to life in 2016, blending some black metal, melodic metal and folk influences.
After 2 years of live performance and hard work to create something fresh and different, the band is getting ready to unleash it’s new LP. That title will see day in 2018 and Sacrificed Alliance is as ready as they will ever be to show the world the quality material they have been preparing for the last two years.
Inviolate
INVIOLATE: 1. adj. Not violated or profaned; intact, free from violation, injury, desecration, or outrage.
Originally founded with vocalist and sample engineer Kadria, Bryon Brown on guitar and Chris Farmer on bass, Atlanta’s Inviolate continues to create and perform with Kadria at the creative helm, along with an array of Atlanta’s finest rock and metal talent on-stage and in the studio. Inviolate’s sound is multi-faceted, defying the labels of mere “metal”, “rock”, “electronica”, but a sonic blend of all. But the live show underlines the uniqueness of the music: At the activation of the electronic pulse, a lone bellydancer takes the stage. The mesmerizing movements draw the crowd closer and the rest of the band to the stage. Heavy nimble guitar riffs, thunderous bass lines, tight high-energy drumming and powerful female vocals make apparent that something new and unique is being experienced.
Inviolate released its first 4-song self-titled EP in 2007 and released a 7-song album titled “Feast of Ashes”, co-produced with Mike Froedge of Doubledrive/Black Label Society in 2012. The album garnered 3 nominations at the 2013 GA Music Awards for Best Metal Band, Video of the Year (for the single “Condemned”) and for Kadria as Best Rock Female.
Inviolate has shared the stage with a diversity of hard rock, metal, industrial and even acoustic heavyweights including Static-X, Whitechapel, Butcher Babies, Mushroomhead, Powerman5000, Amaranthe, Epica, SOiL, One-Eyed Doll, Celldweller, Symphony X, and Angie Aparo.
In early 2017, Inviolate returned to the studio to record their full-length CD “The Insomniac’s Dream” with co-producer Jordon Popp (Sky Machine/Seven Day Sonnet) in Chicago, IL. Their first single, “Sisyphus”, dropped with a lyric video in July 2017 and features guest vocals by the vocal titan Bjorn Strid (Soilwork/Night Flight Orchestra). “The Insomniac’s Dream” was released worldwide on August 1, 2017 and the band continues to tour the east coast, pushing steadily westward and gaining fans (Inviolators) at every turn. “I’m super excited about this album,” says vocalist Kadria. “We pushed the envelope on so many levels. And then we got to work with someone like Bjorn on a song — it’s such an honor to have his voice on one of our songs! And we were thrilled to have Jordon put on his producer’s hat on for our songs. The response we’re getting at every show has been amazing.”
The band continues to tour, with an album of remixes already underway and planned for release early spring 2018. “More shows, more twists, more visual and auditory Inviolations coming your way. We can hardly wait!”
Scorched Moon
Started as a creative project in late 2012 by Trapper Lanthier and Scott Helmreich, they are currently hard at work writing and recording their first album. In May of 2013, they were joined by Amanda Dickey on bass, and were joined later in the year by Peter Louglas on vocals and keys. The music for the album was mostly written, but it was never released. Following the tragic death of Scott’s younger brother Jay, Scott quit and the band went on a hiatus in early 2014. Trapper met Jersey after moving to Atlanta, and decided to revive the project in September of 2016. They were joined by John Barrett on Bass in December, and there is new material in the works!
